2020 marks the 8th year SHAKE FEST has provided a unique opportunity for students across QLD to focus their artistic abilities in an all-inclusive creative celebration of the works of William Shakespeare. SHAKE FEST is the original cross schools Festival dynamically connecting students, schools, and industry through Shakespeare.
HOW IT WORKS
Once teachers have enrolled their school, students will have access to a suite of resources to help guide and inspire them as they prepare a piece (or two) in a category of their choice. Check ins, LIVE Q+As and surprise videos throughout term two will keep the process dynamic and fun, no matter where your students are. Your students have the entire term to create their unique entry which is submitted online.
Once reviewed, your students will receive comprehensive feedback on their submissions to help them on their creative journey. Selected students will be invited to the State Showcase in October, allowing time in Term 3 to adapt their piece for a staged live performance.
The State Showcase is our two-day extravaganza to applaud QLD student’s creative work. It begins with a full day of free workshops on Friday 16 October, where students can hone their skills and forge friendships with like-minded students across the state. On Saturday 16 October, participants will showcase their work for parents and friends.
